About

Mathieu Meijers (Stein, 1951) is a Dutch artist based in Eindhoven. Mathieu was a lecturer at the Design Academy Eindhoven (’Atelier’ department), Academy of Fine Arts (AKV) St. Joost, Breda/Den Bosch(Visual Arts department) and the Gerrit Rietveld Academy, Amsterdam (Textile department).

Since 2002, Mathieu has been making ‘drawings’ in both mural and book format. These works have a graphic appearance and are positioned between abstraction and figuration. Many works show the synergy between painting and drawing.
